It’s no secret that we are passionate about supporting local businesses, so when the team at Locos approached us to refresh their brand identity, we couldn’t wait to dive in.

Locos’ prime position in Barwon Heads makes it a cornerstone of the community. However, its previous branding no longer reflected the vibrant, welcoming space it aspired to be. The challenge was clear: we needed to reinvigorate how locals perceived their go-to bar, all while working within a tight timeframe to have everything ready before the hectic holiday season.

We began by working with Lara and Blair in conducting a deep dive into Loco’s vision, values, and goals. This collaborative process laid the foundation for a meaningful brand story—one that resonates with the local community, captures the original spirit of Barwon Heads all whilst still being a preferred venue for tourists.

Lara and Blair’s tongue in cheek personality needed to shine through, the branding required hints of irony that may be missed to the summer blow-ins and local naysayers alike.

With a clear understanding of Locos identity, we got to work designing their core brand assets. From logos and color palettes to typography, we created a cohesive visual identity that feels fresh, humorous, and distinctly local. We then brought these elements to life through:

Signage: Eye-catching designs that draw people in and reflect the bar’s updated personality.

Uniforms and Merch: Apparel for staff, and customers, ensuring every detail aligns with the brand.

Bar Fit-Out: Providing a carefully curated direction for the interior, within a tight budget, bringing the brand to life in the physical space.

Our partnership with Locos didn’t stop with the rebrand. We’re proud to work with their team weekly to create their cocktail and food menus, keeping things fresh and on-brand. We’re also providing strategic support to help ensure their future plans are as successful as their revamped identity.For us, the Locos project is more than a rebrand; it’s a celebration of community, collaboration, and creativity. By reimagining their identity, we’ve helped this local favourite take the next step in its journey while staying true to its roots.
